METRO MANILA, 11 February 2011- Nexus-Net Fiber Optics Inc. and PLDT Company has launched today the first FOA CFOT Training for PLDT Technicians for the year 2011. The Certified Fiber Optic Technician (CFOT) Training Course, which will conclude on Sunday, is the first among a series of trainings that Nexus-Net will conduct for PLDT this year.
The rapid growth in fiber optic networks is creating a demand for PLDT personnel that is trained in the design, installation and operations of fiber optic technology. Nexus-Net, working in conjunction with PLDT, has developed training classes that can prepare utility professionals to take and pass the FOA CFOT Certification Exam. The purpose of PLDT’s FOA Certification is to define recognized competency levels and to further support the communications industry.
The 19 attendees will cover topics such as fiber optic theory, cables, terminations, connectors, splicing, loss testing, OTDR testing and fiber cable networking. Training is conducted at PLDT’s Training Facility, TelTec Building, Boni Avenue, Mandaluyong City, Metro Manila.
